Philips Park
Philips Park is one of Manchester's finest green spaces. It was
opened in 1846 as one of the UK's first municipal parks, intended for use by
everybody - a legacy that proudly lives on today.
Situated in East Manchester, next to the City of Manchester Stadium it covers 31 acres. The park provides facilities for a wide range of leisure activities and sports. The River Medlock runs through the park, providing a rich habitat for the wide range of wildlife.
The park provides access for disabled people and can be easily reached by public transport from the city centre.
We
hope you enjoy exploring Philips Park for yourself. Please help to keep
it a safe and healthy environment for this and future generations. If
you have any comments or questions, then don't hesitate to contact us.
In
recognition of its high standard in park management, Philips Park
was awarded Green Flag status by the Civic Trust in 2005. Click here to find out more.
